Donald Ward of the National Institute of Standards and Technology displays work he has completed using the Algor Finite Element Analysis (FEA) System.

"The object on the monitor is a model of a piston gage made of a .5% carbon steel material," Ward explains. "We are building models like this one to investigate deformations in both cylinders and pistons. The data from finite element analysis will be compared with that from actual testing. We are anticipating similar results both in area and displacements.

"I have found HyperSap invaluable for running my sizable problems," Ward notes. "So far, I am quite pleased overall with both the ease and accuracy of the entire Algor FEA System."
